The petitioner challenging Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's election from the Varuna Assembly constituency argued in the Karnataka High Court that the five guarantee schemes promised by the Indian National Congress ahead of the 2023 Assembly elections are discriminatory against men and violate Article 14 of the Constitution.
Senior Advocate Pramila Neasargi, representing the petitioner KM Shankara, made these submissions before Justice Sunil Dutt Yadav during the proceedings on Saturday.
